Right so heres the plan!!! I know most of us will be there tonight due to this dealer training with Floodser at half 6!

So this "Warm up" €50 wash 'n' go that AKQJ10 was talking about should go ahead tonight!

    Two questions:
What Boardies is up for playing it?

Should we start at about half 7 and play on through the start of the tourney,(my preferred choice) or should we wait until say 11 or so until a few of us are knocked out?

I'm up for this anyway, either way is good for me, What time is that dealer thing over at? Would it be over by Pint O'Clock? For a few seven's....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,404 ✭✭✭Goodluck2me

im up for starting it as soon as the dealer training is over and continuing it after. by that stage mayeb only 4-5 people are left anyway. or not playing the 20 game at all...

Yea i think thats the best idea!! And people can still buy in to the tourney if they want!! I reckon we should make it a 15min clock... 4k? and say 300/150/50 payout

Basically how he wants us to shuffle and it's rather exact, the idea being he wants everyone to do the same thing and it's promotes consistancy and looks better for players.

Last time we did it, it ran until about 8:30 I recall, no idea about tonight. This all reminds me better get ready to head in.

i think we all agree that the €50 sit and go will haev to be a regular fixture. i think it should be given to the first 10 exiters from the 20 game. really enjoyed it tonight and was a good bit of craic with loads of play.

Why are ye student types playing in a 20 quid game if you are going to play in a 50 game if ye get knocked out early? Ask them to up the20 game to 50 or something instead and play a 20 quid game if ye get knocked out.

    Poor my arse.

Back at work for a day before my holiday tomorrow. Tough life. Still not 100% though, thanks for the concern (which I am assuming to be sincere).

The problem is you wont get the numbers if they uped the buy in to fifty for the student game. In our 50 sng it was all boardsies who were (I assume) profitable poker players and can offerd to play 50 sng, the majority of players last night would think playing a 50e sng is outrageous!

Plus we all got knocked out by sick beats, apart from goodlucktome who just pushed a river with nine high I think it was and got called by a straight :)

    Good times....

I presume Trippie or Fiddlesticks didnt take the tourney down since its not posted here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

There was a five way chop, chip leader got 400 and everyone else 250 i think. Trippie came out of it well as he was real short.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 263 ✭✭DITTag

Was it much of a chip lead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

    no idea.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,993 ✭✭✭Trippie

originally it was a 4 way chop with the chip leader who had around 100k gettin 400 and the three of us getting 275 each but we counted the cash wrong and was 20 over so i took 250 and left the other two as they were.

i was delighted with the deal as i was card dead from two tables out and only had about 12k with the blinds at 1500/3000 and me in the big blind next hand. although i was the one who was up for the deal first when i joint 1st in chips so they thought it was only fair as i just lost a big pot for 35/40k,the only reason we didnt do a deal earlier was because some nob was holding out in the hope that me and fiddler could wait no longer for the night link and just piss away the chips

Agreed, really enjoyed it. Really good structure, think it was nearly 4 hours, well when I left it was. You played well Joe, nice victory.

Joe ffs man slow down. You have got a great game, you can build a stack and then you brain fart it all away. You posted on Tuesday nights thread that you took some advice from me on your play and cashed and then I read that you went out when you open pushed from the botton with f'all and the SB folded AQ to you and the BB chinned you. WHY WHY WHY?? If Id known it was you that open pushed from the button my chips would beat you into the pot wih AQ. Slow down, its not a sprint. You cant win a tourney when there are 2 tables left but you can certainly lose it.

actually what happened in the 20 euro game was different, but i still went out stupdily none-the-less. where i took your advice was in the Sit n Go where i played quite well and took my time for every decision and ended up winning it. i wasnt really in the mood for the 20 game and by no means played well in it.(for the 3 hands i was involved in!:))
also re: the other game i had 77 on the button when folded to me (6handed), i have to raise there i didnt just throw them in with F`all, which i think is standard.
thirdly i agree with what you have said above and appreciate your advice. anyone who played the SNG will agree that i can do it when i want to.

Agreed, I thought the standard at the SNG was excellent, and if Liam Flood had been playing in it he would of been pleasently surprised...

I think it was definately a good warm up for tommorow.

i can do it when i want to.

Thats exactly why im having a go at you here. Im not trying to pretend im a great player and that you should be taking advice from me. Far from it in fact. I have only played with you a handful of times and I have noticed the same flaw repeatedly.

Joe i agree that you played an excellent game last nite in the SNG but it was not without its brain fart moments!!! Like the big pot you won against carlos when you came over the top with A5 vs his AQ and spiked a 5...For your own sake (and the sake of our team tomorrow!!!) i think you should just take your time and accumulate chips at a steady rate. No need to make huge moves early on and i know your keen to pounce when someone shows weakness but most of the time there is no need to get involved. Just my 2c

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,404 ✭✭✭Goodluck2me

the cards are irrelevant there from my perspective id do that every day. he called for all of his chips whne he had 18BB left after folding with AQ, i still would have had about 6K if he calls. he wanted to go to the pub, says im sure your ahead but ill call anyway. what more do you want? he folds that if he wants to play on.
also he raised my BB 3 orbits in a row [after i raised his and didnt show (id AA)] and showed suited connecters the second time, so i cant put him on a strong hand. he was betting 4.5BB from the cut-off.i dont think this is a brain fart the difference being i thought it through, believed him to be weak enough and asked him a question for all of his chips. the other occassions where were i didnt think and just gifted someone ALL of MY chips when i knew i was behind.

SnG was quality last night. Far better than playing the tourney. Even 3 hours in the average stack was around 20BB, granted GL2ME had about half the chips in play at this stage:) .
