They did finish it, amazingly. It finished about 2 weeks before Christmas Day. And don't forget get the "great" scheduling on their part by having it at 11:50 at night

Given that they didn't start last time until Sky were at about episode 20, I wouldn't hold my breath. June?

Day 1 - 3 had an average of 150,000 viewers each week when it was on Tuesday nights at 9:30/10:00 the same as CSI gets in that time slot now (expect for Miami which gets better viewers, strange).

Day 4 had an even worse schedule then Day 5, it started off on Friday nights and was moved to saturday nights and then moved to late night monday nights AFAIK.

Day 5 was shown at around 11:20 - 12 on RTE Two depending on, R&P and the news.

I assume that 24 will return to RTE in June or July of this year. But if they are going to show it so late they may as well put double episodes on, As the only viewer of the show on monday nights it annoyed me that it took so long to get through the series.

RTE have no respect for their bought in shows please email andrew.fitzpatrick@rte.ie as he is head of scheduling :)

Also I am downloading the series this year, I don't think it is illegal when RTE already bought the rights and since I pay a TV Licence surely I should be able to download this series that RTE will put on so late.

BTW I can imagine Day 6 appearing later in the schedules this year on RTE. :(

are you for real. it is just that i don't see a smiley after it

the fact you pay a tv license gives you no right to download any tv shows

Yes, it is indeed illegal to download copyright series, unless copyright holders say it's OK to do so. Who has the rights to broadcast is irrelevant.

I emailed RTE about this a few weeks ago.
Thank you for your query. RTÉ Television has the sixth series under license but the licence to broadcast does not activate until March.
It will be considered for scheduling after that date. At the moment there is no indication of when this might be. All I can suggest is that you keep an eye on the RTÉ Guide in and/after March and/or contact us again.

Yeah but it gets rid of the guilt factor :)

happy, surely I have paid already for the show.

And I prob will buy the DVD :) so I am paying twice for this show.

I watch on sky do they hold broadcast rights for Ireland? Or is that a tiny bit illegal too?

Sorry I don't watch on sky why would I lie, why would I watch that amount of adds for any TV show.

Because they generally manage to show programs in a consistent time slot and at the time they're advertised. RTE had a full page ad in the Metro and on their website advertising Lost as being on at 10pm, then scheduled it for 9.55.

Besides, if the same episode fills a one-hour slot on both channels, then surely you're getting a similar number of ads on both?

RTE never fill an hour of any american show that they show.

Generally the make up about 55 mins and some times only 50mins. (Generally an american show will run for 45mins in total sometimes 50mins, without adds)

RTE show 2 ad breaks during an hour long show not 4 or 5. RTE can only show 9mins (it could be less) over one hour of TV. Sky show plenty more.

I amn't too bothered by when they show things as long as they show them during prime time. :)
