I assume Dublin Bus are going to be prepared to address some accessability concerns on the day, as the last time I spoke with a Dublin Bus rep. about issues I found him to be quite dismissive and the issues have still not been dealt with after 2 years.

Looking forward to seeing all the latest gizmos at this! Got the flyer in the post before Christmas and marked it in my diary.

I've never really forgiven Dublin Bus ever since they bought 250 inaccessible double-deckers back in '99, when the new low-floor version was only months from being made available. The CIE group CEO of the day tried to blame it on the then Minister Mary O'Rourke - but to me, it was straight-forward cost cutting (I actually spoke to him about it because I knew his son and met the man at a school graduation).

Luckily, there have been a large number of low-floored buses brought in since. Unfotunately the route I live on still uses the older ones. I wrote letters to a local TD a few years back and she made a representation to Dublin Bus, to no avail. They assured both of us that within 2 years a limited number of low floor buses would be put on the route. That's almost 4 years ago now...

i didn't think the exhibition was that great, some of the wheelchairs seemed over-priced and there was one or two random stalls that probably shouldn't have been there.
some of the stands like fas and the IWA had some good information pamphlets.

Hmmm, the mountain climber thing, i suppose it has gyroscopes controlling the balance and stuff... like a Segwey. Sounds cool
I'd love to be able to go up mountains!
