    Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to post (Mods feel free to pass me round like a cheap whóre if necessary)

I just bought myself a new inspiron 9400 from Dell. 2 Gigs RAM, core Duo chip and 256MB Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS PCI Express x16

Now, I do know a good bit about software and a reasonable bit about hardware so.....

    My question is as follows....

Are there any cool programs that I could download for my new rig?
Are there any cool games out there too that are worth buying?
Are there any add-ons that I should consider?

    Thanks in advance

For software check out the sticky here for essential free software.

As for games, it depends what type of games you like.

And as for add-ons what else were you thinking of?

Cool, I just had a look at that sticky and theres a few things in there that might tickle the old fancy.

With regards games, I guess I like FPS like the Battlefields(which I have) and RPG's like the monkey islands(which I also have). anything else out there that might be in the same league as those two types?

I'm not sure about add-ons, and wouldn't knwo until I saw one or needed one, anything out there that's pretty useful?

    Thanks for the help petes

On the FPS side of things I'd check out Call of Juarez, F.E.A.R. or Prey. Three great ones there.

They are about the only type of game that I play so can't really help you out with the RPG's.

The game awards 2006 forum might give you a few ideas on others to get.

yes , you should get a flux capacitor , go faster stripe for the side of the case and a l33t rear spoiler. Your pc will be very slow without them :D

    Seriously though chunks,

for an RPG game you cant go wrong with Oblivion, its not very much like monkey island (classic game) but I enjoyed it alot. Shame it didnt have multi player though.
