Where to play in Vegas?

I'm going to Vegas in April to meet up with some friends who are coming over from Ireland.

I'm wondering where might be a good place for us to play some poker.
Obviously there are plenty of high stakes games but what about lower stakes.
Is there anywhere we could go to play on a budget?
Maybe some SnGs or low entry tournaments?

1-2 NL at Venetian, Palms, MGM all were good games. I liked Palms the best myself.

    Thanks for that link.

Seems the lowest limits are $1/$2, is that right?

Any information on the lowest entry fees for tournaments?
We'll probably only spend one day/night playing and i'd say the budget would be around $100 or so.

    Ah, silly me.
I didn't notice the Tournaments link.

    $22 is pretty reasonable.
I'd say we'd probably go for something in that range.

MGM i had the most fun at. Good level of tables available, good players and good service. Also the place is nice, compared to places like the excalibar...

    Second this.
Had a great time on the $1/$2 NL tables, well run, comfortable and dealers & waitresses are good.
Also won a few dollars so that probably helped with the enjoyment.

The Monte Carlo was good too but the poker room is very small.

I found Ceasers Palace brillant, good service and the tournaments weren't that bad either. Although it was my first trip to vegas and when you get comfortable in a card room you don't like moving too much

you could always play limit if your budget is tight, sit there for hours beating the rake in free beer!

edited to say that there's a $50 1/2NL buy-in game at the Luxor; Go there at around lunchtime as they have a 'poker school' for beginners and then they let them loose on the tables, easy money. I remember spinning $50 up into $400+ a couple of days there - cheap game with bad players, what more do you want?

The Alladin run several tournaments daily, first starts I think at 10.00am, 12.00 midday, 16.00hrs , 19.00hrs & another at midnight.

Most to my memory are reasonably priced.
