    hi

I got a macbook a few weeks ago and noticed how quiet and tuny the speakers are for music.
Would external speakers increase the qualy and volume of the sound?

whatare the best speakers i could get for €50 - 60?

    thanks!

If the speakers are powered, then yes, they should increase volume a lot.

I've seen the Logitech X-230 speakers (€41) featured in a lot of budget builds on PC sites; although, they're not exactly portable. I'd also find out where the subwoofer plugs in first.

I use these and know a fair few people who also have them.

The sound is great, not to mention the fact that they actually look good on a desktop. My neighbours also love them, I know cos they bang on the wall when I use em'

The O2 experience stores do them, I think spectra will also stock them.

Could you post that link again? Or the product name? I, too, am looking for decent speakers to fill my flat, so I could play MP3s and CDs via my PC.

I was looking at those cheap Logitec ones, but the speakers are 8W. That's useless, innit?

The logitech x230's are fantastic if they are going to be in a static location. Best budget (and mid range even) speakers around imo. Looked at loads before settling on them for my PC and then liked them so much I got a set for my mac mini too. They are quite powerful for their size and the bass is excellent. Music sounds really great on them, as do games and movies
