    Hi all.
Im looking for roughly a 10 day break away in the summer.
I have never been across the atlantic.
I have a couple of brochures here with me on Canada and the US.
For some reason Canada has always appealed to me but after looking
into it a bit more, USA looks like a great holiday too.
As regards Canada, Im thinking of flying into Toronto, spending about 4 days there, then driving up to Montreal for about 5 - 6 days and then back to Toronto to fly home.
As regards the USA, I was maybe thinking 14 days in California.Renting a car aswell.Im sure a lot of people on this forum have been to both places (Canada & USA).
I really cannot make my mind up between canada & u.s
    What do you guys think?
I would really appreciate any suggestions.
Many thanks & happy new year.
    Regards.

P.s It will be me and the girlfriend, so i dont expect it to be a typical holiday where I go loco!!

I was in Canada for 5 weeks last summer. Flew into Calgary (has come into alot of money over the last few years through oil...felt very American, didnt really like it) and from there went to BC to a town called Nelson. Nelson is by the rocky mountains and was absolutely amazing. If you can make it to BC you should because its absolutely breathtaking.

I was also in Montreal for two weeks. Great city with a very European feel to it. Lots of arty types, cafes, parks etc. It has a very good public transport system too and you can get the metro everywhere. In parts of Montreal they dont even speak much english. All of the signs and menus are in French which adds to the European feel.

I would definitely reccomend Montreal & anywhere in BC.

    Hey there!
    Sounds good alright.
I believe Montreal has a very European feel to it alright.
I think it comes down to a couple of nights in Toronto and
a couple of nights in Montreal.
    But Vancouver certainly looks fabulous.
The thing is I like to have lots to see and do,
and I would nearly narrow my choice to
    Vancouver or Toronto + Montreal.
I hope to rent a car too and drive around
    Argh decisions! :)
If it was a choice between the two (Vancouver or Toronto + Montreal)
what would be the more enjoyable?
Many thanks for your info again.

    I loved Montreal too!

All the Canadians did recommend BC though even though I didn't make it there myself
