Seriously wtf is going on?I put in the credit today using Ukash vouchers and now when I try to register for the Irish National Student Championships I am not allowed.I contacted promotions@pacificpoker.com and still no change.

The deadline for entries is in a couple of hours so they better sort this out soon.Otherwise serious questions will be asked about the organisation, honesty and validity of this event.

You're questioning the validity of an event and the honesty of the organisation because they won't take money from you???
If I was planning to screw people online like that, id make it pretty easy to register.
Did you join pacificpoker through the link on pokerireland??
Try joining the tourney named "The Clamper". If is for people who were unable to join because of reg problems

Seriously now - get down off the stage.

Stephen has put blood, sweat and tears into this and on the eve of the event he doesnt need some upstart coming out with lines like the above. If there are technical details that you want to bring to Stephens attn then I suggest the following.

    1. PM
    2. Email
    3. Phone Call

Hopefully you will see the benefit of using some discretion by chosing some of the above routes without feeling the need to come on here spouting off.

No they wont let me join that one either.Look no mention whatsoever was made when advertising this event that this problem might occur. As far as I am concerned its an organisational cock-up that occured as a result of rushed or improper planning.I am sure there are a good few people in my situation who are now feeling rightly annoyed with pokerireland.Well done lads, you have done a great job...

This from the guy who is now trying to register at the 11th hour when he could have done it for the last month or more.... yeah!

Maybe saying what went wrong with your registration would be a better idea, I had registration problems myself and a couple of emails to Stephen and it was all sorted so you could probably do the same, although you would probably be better off trying to phone at this stage.

I can understand you are ennoyed, but maybe you need help in the way you channel you anger! On the other hand i find the word "Retard" quite repulsive and highly offensive! i think this event will be better off without the likes of yourself

you money was taken out of your account and you werent registered? did you think to re-check the list as there is a time delay between the two. did you b) try to e-mail support and have the probelm rectified did you c) try to contact stephen properly to help you to sort it out?

IF you have answer No to any of the above then why are you giving out?

i can also absolutely assure you that the money hasnt gone to Stephen so i cannot see why you abuse is directed at him i doubt you would be giving out about liam flood if something happened in Paddy power. now try the above and stop being a troll.

I know alot of people have had problems. The restrictions put on signing up were inforced by 888, not pokerireland. They want to know who is joining their site from the event.

There have been people with registration problems throughout, and while I have felt sorry for them, at the same time I am glad that I followed instructions to the letter. As anybody who tried to take a shortcut has had problems, this includes not following the pokerireland link, trying to sign up for another bonus, not depositing the correct amount, and not doing it the way you were asked.
Some people did it right and still had problems, and stephen got it sorted.
We started talking about this 4 months ago. Most of us registered weeks ago.
Stephen has been urging people get registered for 4 weeks now. This way any problems incountered could be dealt with it time.
he is obviouly a retard and has no organisational skill what so ever,
Trying to register 4 hours from the cut off doesn't say much about your organisation skills, nor your common sense and intelligence.

Get on to pacificpoker about your money, you will get it back. You probably wont make the tourney on saturday, but honestly I think you are better off without it. Don't think you mad skills will cut it BadBoy, and you'd never last with that temper.

On a plus for everyone else, the tourney has just broke 200 players

Ok, I am ill and I have no patience. You are banned for, oh let's say until I come back from holiday which is in 10 days time. If you PM me reminding me politely to unban you then, then I will. If not then I won't remember off my own back and you will stay banned. This is a public forum. What that means is that you discuss things and be civil to people. If you had requested to get a number from Stephen where you could talk through your problems then I am sure this would have been solved easily, but I don't care anymore.

Two big mistakes on behalf of the PokerIreland team:

1)Nowhere on the site does it specifically say that if you dont sign up for a pacificpoker acc through the link given you wont be able to register for the acc.Because according to pacificpoker this is exactly the case. Those who sign up through www.pacificpoker.com will not be allowed register.

2)Nowhere on their site have they stated that players who try and register on the day of the deadline and encounter problems will be basically f*^ked due to the 24hr response time of pacificpoker.

These are serious adminstrational errors and do call into question the organisation of the event.I will be taking my money straight out of my acc tomorrow and writing a complaint to the ombudsman as is my right as a consumer.

However i dont share that muppets sentiments.

I just want to grab STEPHEN'S attention to help me out.

    Thanks

Get in touch with Stephen, he will get you registered.

DJDC it would have been easier if you had used the pokerireland link but you can still get in, get in touch with Stephen and you'll be able to reg for it. If you email him your username and full name, say you didnt sign up through pokerireland and he will email the main person in Pacific who will get back to you allowing you to reg.

Is it tonight at midnight that registration closes or tomorrow at midnight??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 128 ✭✭Helper_Monkey

Just talking to Stephen and its midnight tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 947 ✭✭✭fobster

Yeah I saw it the time had been extended on pacific poker alright, I'd say with tonight's game in the jackpot and a little bit of luck there'll be at least250 players registered by the deadline, there's 211 registered now so it is definitely within reach if the pace of registrations keeps up.

There must have been at least 60 registrations today alone.

its an awful shame that there isnt somewhere to report this sort of behaviour on a forum

while i understand that its an open forum where people make their views known

i take exception to my friend being called those names

sometimes people do and say things in the heat of the moment and i can appreciate that, but to write it down, regardless of ones frustration, well you dont do it , do you?

this was uncalled for, and i am happy to see so many of you standing up for the enormous effort of Stephen and his colleagues at Poker Ireland.

i am particularly disappointed with a poker player acting in a manner likely to bring the game into disrepute

i hope he/she reads this and makes a formal apology to Stephen.

it sometimes can be difficult to apologise even when we are in the absolute wrong, but it takes a person of a certain quality to do it.

do it and earn the respect of other players, and i for one will take my hat off to you

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

They are banned from posting due to the 'style' of posting so until at least Sat week they won't be apologising here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

I think it's pretty clear what the majority of the players/posters here think of the tournament, and of all the work stephen's put into it. Some people are just em...hmm, I don't wanna get banned again.

Steven I'm sure Kelly can arrange some personal security for you for this event a lot of people in Waterford have year's of experience beating up students and I'm sure he can put you in touch with one or two if needs be

Just a quick note to all the people who have had problems registerring for this event - I have been watching the progress of this event closely from the first day stephen posted this up and i have to say he has dealt with every issue and responded to every post made in both a professional manner but also a friendly manner -

I dont see how people leave it till the day before the event to register for it , The register online saga is beyond poker Irelands control as it is the sponsors call on this , I dont like the way people have disrespected a friend of mine and also a man who has done alot for poker in Ireland , If ye had bothered to call Stephen u would have been quickly sorted out or he would definately have tryed everytjing to sort it out as soon as he could ......

I really hope this event goes well as Stephen has put a huge effort into this event and deserves praise for putting such an effort , and to get a jumped up little guy who cant register bring down the tournament the day before just annoys me..

Please note we at Big Slick/Boyle Poker Fully support Poker Ireland and stand by everything Stephen has brought to the game , In the space of a a year i have gotten to know this guy and we have learned alot from him and his time with Poker Events where he was an ambassador for the game in Ireland and in our opinion as a player and a Tournament Director deserves Respect not critisism from fellow poker players - If u do not agree with this then u have no buisness playin in this event nor any of our events in the future ..

In response to the first point
The NSPC 2007 is a live (offline) poker tournament taking place in the RDS, Dublin this coming January. 888/Pacific Poker are sponsors for this event. Registration for this event must be completed online using the links below. Further information on this event can be found here.

As for the second, 888 do have a response time of about 24hours, ehich is about right for any internet company. But it might of been a good idea to use the live chat to get it sorted.
If you care so much about this event, it might of been wise to register early. At least if you didnt follow instructions early, you would of had time to sort it.
Your problems are with 888.com, not pokerireland. I hope you make it clear in your letter to the ombudsman.
And fairplay to stephen for extending the buy-in time.
    See you on saturday
