Got a email today in my hotmail junkbox, claimed to be from paypal, saying that a new email address[that i had never heard or seen before] had been registered to my account and to confrim it.
i,feeling supious, didnt click the link in the email, but went to the www.paypal.com address, logged in and discovered there was no new registered email address
another thing i found strange-how would have paypal gotten this email address?
ive always used a completly differently email adress[eircom] for paypal.............

Of course it's spam just delete it. Send a copy of it to Paypal also.
I've been getting a few spam paypal emails advising me to pay for items I've never bought. You should also notice on the header of the email>>From:Paypal.com To:blank (name missing)

Any official mail from Paypal will have your name on the header.

...and why is this in the Bargains thread??

These are nothing new (at least for me anyway). Forward the email (or URL address) to spoof@paypal.com.

Don't want to state the obvious, but i hope you did not go to the www.paypal.com link in the e-mail.

In other words, did you type in the address. Most of those phishing e-mails have a faked link.

    Cheers
