Anyone know anything about Cambridge Audio?I'm looking to put together a reasonably priced hifi system of separates(€7-800) and these are getting rave reviews everywhere(specifically the Azur range).
Richersounds are doing a deal at the mo'-amp+cd+mordaunt short speakers for£500.
    Any help appreciated

they're ok, value for money I suppose. Rischer actually own them, as they do MS (if memory serves) and they sometimes trade on teh history of Cambridge. Back in the 70's they were ledgendary amps (I still have a P60 around somewhere!) and over the years different variations have produced Cambridge, A&R, A&R Cambridge and Arcam but don't confuse Arcam with the boxes Richer are now selling.. anyway in short, good value decent sound but still very much an "entry level" componant.

I am in the middle of building their Azur system. So far have amp and cd . Will be picking up tuner this weekend in Birmingham. There is currently a slight delay on jukebox. Can be a tad bright at high levels. What type of music do you listen to and what source will you use most?Overall I am very happy. Any specific questions?

DAB radio isn't available in Ireland just yet (and I don't know when it will be) so avoid for now.... maybe somebody knows when or if it's coming?

I'd agree. Although the Azur is well thought of I'd certainly prefer NAD myself.

Just spent the last few days bonding with my Azur tuner. Its a cracker, While DAB has not reached maturity in Ireland, what is available give a taste of whats to come.Clarity and sound in genral is terrific, and I am as yet only using an indoor wire antenna for DAB reception.

I've the Azur 540A amp and 340C CD player. The amp is only brand new but first impressions are excellent. However, the CD is noisy ('clicking' sound when disc is spinning) which is bloody annoying when I'm near it - it's louder than my old mini system! Cambridge said that this is normal for the model. It's not a problem at normal volumes though. Apparently the higher-end Azur players have a different system, but I'd check before splashing out.
