I got a pc from dell outlet last month and have added some stuff to it:

its a dimension e520 with an e6300 core 2 duo, 1gb ram, 250gb harddrive, ati x1300 graphics card and a dvd burner. I have swapped the sata dvd burner with a pioneer ide burner ( and so i have to use a pci ide/sata controller ). And have just added a 320gb harddrive and a 500gb harddrive and a skystar HD satellite tv card (pci). Just wondering would this be too much for the psu?

also what would the rough cost per hour be for running a pc like this? ( Its going to be used as a media pc, no gaming)

    according to the link above

    Chassis
    305 Watt DC Power Supply

    Thanks

Got the E521 at work. I was shocked when I saw the power rating of the PSU too -- just over 300 W. My own custom build has a 450 W PSU! I suppose/hope Dell know what they're at.

Maybe the plan is for customers to burn out the PSU and be forced into buying a proprietary replacement from them!
