chamonix in the summer / climbing Mont Blanc - On a budget

    Heya

    I am organising a trip to Chamonix in the summer of 07. We will be spending a week or so there and will climb Mont Blanc. And we are gonna try and do it on a bit of a budget.

    Does anyone know of any good / cheap b & bs or dormer style accomodation in Chamonix, or can you recommend self catered etc.

    Anyone climbed Mont Blanc... any tips or recommendations for a guide. I think we are gonna spend about three days aclimmitising to the altitude and then do the peak.

    >> can it be done without crampons? can you rent crampons there? any recomendations on gear or must have's / must do's?

    Can anyone recommend a route to the top?

    Any general suggestions or tips welcomed!
