I already have sky and am now thinking of getting multiroom and maybe sky+ also.

Multiroom is priority but I'm wondering what I would expect to pay if I upgraded to sky+ also.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

i dunno if this still applies, but we did this before Christmas and paid absolutely nothing! There was a thread about it somewhere that some satelite installlers were installing sky + for free and all you had to pay was the installation. But when we said we wanted multiroom too they waived the installation cost and it didn`t cost a thing! It was a great deal! I got it from Electroplus who you can find in the sticky at the top of this thread of installers.

Installation / equipment costs aside, Multiroom costs €15/mo as does Sky+. If you have 2 or more premium channels Sky+ is free (installationa / equipment aside), but not Multiroom

Thanks for that info. I have sports plus movies as it stands so €15 per month extra isn't too bad for both Multi/Sky+. However, I'm wondering about the equipment and installation costs.
Does this vary depending on who installs it? Any advice on good installers in the Cork area?

i ordered sky + and multiroom yesteday direct from sky(already had sky sports and movies) and it cam to €149 for box and installation. Its been installed in 10 days(in cork). After hearing about the potential price decrease though, i wish now i held back for a few weeks. The offer had better be for existing customers as well!!
I have one issue though regarding sky+. Its the phone line. Has anyone actually been cut off for not having the phone line hooked into the box..I dont want to go through another cabling issue in order for tio connect this phoneline...

I was quoted yesterday in one of the shopping centre kiosks, installation and equipment €99 for multiroom, and €154 for both multiroom and sky+. I have decided to wait and see if any price reductions are coming.

It would be an extra €50 if I moved my existing box into the other room and put the sky + box in is place. This sounds like a rip off.

The phone line also has to be connected to both boxes

Crescent Shopping Centre Limerick quoting €69 for Sky+ for new or existing customers. Claims Sky+ charge not abolished though.

got 5 letters from sky because i didn't have the two boxes connected to a working phone line.they then charged me full price for both €130.00 per month.I didn't want cables running on the skirting boards so i bought a phone line transmitter in power city.its connects the line through the sockets in the house .Sky gave me refund once everything was up and running

I'm not sure how these work. Did you need to buy two receiver units - one for each sky box? How much did it cost.

Sorry to hijack the thread but if you have 2 sky+ boxes do you have to pay the €15 for the recording facility for each box?
