Well, the uninitiated would say: a berth is a bed.
    Wrong!

In advertising speak (sales or rental) a "berth" equals any and all spaces where you could possibly stash a person for the night.

This usually includes awkwardly shaped, narrow beds being marked down as "double beds", a collection of lumpy cushions arranged over what was the dining area during the day being counted as sleeping space for up to three persons, ridiculously short bunks counted as beds for fully grown people and so on.

If you want to buy or rent a motorhome for a gaggle of people (especially if they're all tall and bulky:D ), be wary of the quoted figure of "berths" and make sure to try it out first to see if every body actually gets a comfortable and suitable place for the night.
