The police ombudsman has said there was collusion between police officers and members of the UVF in north Belfast who carried out up to 16 murders and other serious crimes while working as informers.

i also love this reaction from JIMMY SPRATT, DUP

"This report is another clear example why both serving and former Police Officers have no confidence in the Police Ombudsman or her office, the government should immediately appoint an independent body to investigate complaints made against her and her office."

    Yes, very evil of them.

There was never a member of the Gardai involved with the IRA then?

Atrocities were carried out on both sides, with help and collusion at every level in both the Irish & English 'law enforcement' and governments.

We're in the 21st century now, time to leave the past behind.

sorry we are only dealing with facts here, not insinuations or speculation.

but if you do have any proof of collusion between the Gardai and the IRA, then may i suggest you go to the relevant authorities and hand over the proof in your possession.

Course there was. More than a few people died near the border alone as a result of such PIRA / Irish security force collusion. eg the RUC men returning North from the secret meeting with Gardai in Dundalk, Lord Justice Gibson and his wife killed just after crossing the border etc. And what about people in the Irish government attempts to arm the IRA in the early seventies / the Arms trial ?

Seriously, get over it. One side was as bad as the other. As long as people won't let stuff like this go, don't get me wrong I know it is bad, Northern Ireland will never be able to move on.

There are a number of things needed to bring lasting peace to NI, one of them is both sides being able to forgive and forget regardless of how heinous the crime is. The loyalists werre not the only side to commit attrocities.
