after staying up till nearly 6 o clock to watch ricky hatton i was really let down by his performance-he started well and landed shots and moved, then like as if he got scared he kept hitting and holding-should have been warned about this. for last 5 rounds he had no intention of trying to win rounds but only to survive-the supporting fights where good so im not that bothered about paying the ppv but if i just watched the hitman i would of been pissed.

unfortunately i didnt get to see the fight but heard it was a bit of a let down
i thought hatton did the right thing in trying to box urango. urango has very heavy hands and i thought he may catch ricky with a couple of big shots and trouble him. ricky did what he had to do to win the fight, maybe not as stylish or as good as he would have liked but got there in the end.

hatton and castillio is on the 2nd of june. cant wait for this one. didnt see castillio fight either but i think i would have to go with a castillio win as i think he will be too good for hatton. who nos only time will tell, should be a cracker though and one i definitely will be up for :)

Hatton didn't want to Risk the castillo fight when he knew he had this fight in the bag if he boxed, moved and spoiled. Alot of spoiling tbh but Urango was a strong dangerous opponent, not the fight to set alite his profile in the states, but he will have another go against Castillo.

I didn't get the chance to see Hatton against Kosta Tysu, however I checked it out on Youtube and the amount of holding should have got him repeated warnings. His tactic of bore in with his head, hold, then deliberately moving his head around Tysu' face made for poor viewing. A significant amount of Tysu markings that night must have been from the top of Hattons head.

At one stage he had his two hands around Tysu's right elbow putting all his might into bending down over it. Should have been an immediate point deduction. He also hit regularly with punches to back of head.

Boxing wise he will not dominate a fight if he is repeatedly warned about holding. He has good resistance to a punch so gets in close, takes a punch himself but doesn't back away and lands two himself.

i have been following hatton now for a few yrs. hattons last 3 opponents were what id call bad choices. They all had little reputation and hatton was expected to put on a show. maussa is a boxer that makes other boxers look poor because of his unique style. collazo... was the wrong decision to go up the weights and ricky has realised he is a light welterweight. however i have watched that fight on more than one occasion and scored the fight to ricky hatton every time. against urango he was fighting a solid boxer who he was not able to hurt but was able to win by 8 rounds because he outboxed him. make no mistake, castillo is teh last fight on hattons hbo contract currently and this fight is sure to make him a success in america. pjbrady1 if ud have seen the kosta tysu fight ud have not said that it was poor viewing. hatton and tysu both held alot because they both fought so intensively. hatton held tysu only wen he was hurt which is wat we call smart boxing.

Stayed up for the fight and for the first 7 rounds (bar the 5th) I thought Hatton was excellent, but then he started to hold an awful lot and I was surprised that he wasn't warned. It spoiled the performance for me against a shockingly strong but slow opponent.

I think Hatton will beat Castillo (whose fight could have gone either way) with speed (particularly of foot) in what should be a much better fight.

I was at the Tzsyu fight and thought it was a cracker. There was holding and plenty of rough stuff from both sides but for pure intensity and toughness it was a great spectacle.

Hatton's fights are usually great spectacles so I would allow him the odd off night. In my opinion only Mayweather has the arsenal to outgun Ricky at the moment, even then I think Hatton is still a stronger puncher and when that left hook tears into the body not many can stand it....
