    Hi

I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this post, but hopefully someone will be able to shed some light.

I have been on Microlite (the Pill) for the last 3 months.. Last week was day 14/15 of the 21 day pill-taking cycle, and i got my period (full period, not just spotting).... Does anyone know if this is normal? does this mean that when i am in the 7 pill-free days, that i will get another period?

    any thoughts would be appreciated!

    Tks.

Ring your gp and ask him/her about it.

I had the same problem after being on Microlite for over a year, easily sorted by changing to a different pill.

Definately go see the doctor and tell him/her what's happened. Microlite is one of the 'lightest' (less hormones) pills around and therefore doesn't work for everyone.

Also be careful to use extra protection until you are sorted on a new pill as you may not be protected from pregnancy..

Microlite is one of the lightest pills and breakthrough bleeding can vary from light spotting to a heavier bleed. This happened me before and the GP assured me that the effectiveness of the pill was in no way compromised but because it is a lower dose this happens with some people. If it is causing you inconvenience I'd advise going back to your GP.
