Do ye think Nintendo will/should start producing a lot more Gamecube games now that the Wii is such a hit?

Even though the Wiimote kicks ass, I'm sure some people will still like to have the option of playin recent games on the Wii with a control pad.

nope gamecube is all but dead now it would be silly to waste resources on it when the wii has such potential and such a strong start.

I think it has been suggested that some gamecube games might be remade for the Wii controls.

The first (possible) being Prince of Persia 2, its the port from the PS2/Gamecube to the PSP and now to the Wii... who knows, they might tack on some Wii mote thingy's.

All of nintendo's Gamecube games have been cancelled and have moved to the Wii. Unless some obscure japanese company like G.Rev starts using the N-Force arcade board then the GC is dead.

It's funny that the DC has out lasted the xbox and GC. There are two new shooters heading to it in a few weeks.

The DC was/is a solid little machine, with a well developed and understood arcade board associated with it, plenty of them still in the hands of both developers and consumers in Japan, no wonder it continues.
The GC had no such luck, with no Nintendo presence in the arcades to speak of, aside from some namco collaborations, and Nintendo seemingly dead set on making the console as close to a fisher price toy on looks as they possibly could. Thank the gods that when making the Wii they took styling cues from the Apple iPod rather than the Vtech Smile like last time!

not a hope im afraid, it would be very unprofitable no matter how good the wii is selling, the gamecube has now gone the way the N64 did 6years agow ith the last few games being pushed out

i read on Digg yesterday that sales of gamecube games in the states have increased threefold since the launch of the wii. I have been trying to pick up a few that i missed out on aswell. I doubt if theywill start to reproduce them though.

The Gamecube was an overlooked and underated console in my opinion that lost out on valuable licenses that went to Microsoft and Sony. I think, barring places like Gamestation in the UK, that the Gamecube has already had a rebirth in Irish stores because people are finally accepting that the Wii games are just generally too bloody dear and it makes sense to buy Gamecube ones to bulk up your collection in these early days.
