Anyone got any ideas on how I could (quickly) solve the problem of a loose security nut socket on the alloys of a citroen C3? My wife recently bought the car secondhand - the speical security socket for the alloys is there alright but is too loose - so we can't get the wheel off (yes it's punctured!).
On further investigation I realised that the spigot on the end of the nut which acts as a guide for the socket has sheared off - which is the cause of the looseness - so the the question is one of: "how do I remove a wheel nut that is not possible to grip by any standard tool?"

You would probably be better to get a garage / engineering company involved.

They could either weld a bolt onto the end of the security nut, alternatly if they drilled a hole in it, you can get a tap that is threaded the wrong way and this device would be able to open it.

Not sure if there is any DIY way to do it.

many thanks for that - makes perfect sense, particularly after spending over an hour in the dark and freezing cold.
