    Hi

I have a large collection of music on my pc which is kept in my spare room upstairs, i hear that the Squeezebox could be attached to my tv and i could listen to musis from my pc on this. Has anyone used it? Apart from online shops i dont know where i can get it in Ireland. Any problems with the wifi as in travelling through concrete walls? Any other solutions to listen to music on my tv from the colleciton on my pc apart from Sonos which is too dear?

    Thanks
    P

ive been using slimserver\aqueezebox for about three years both for myself and clients. Heartily reccomended. Ive always bough direct from them in the US, even when I was in Ireland.

Sonos is way overpriced IMO. However they have managed to swing some DRM compatibility with apple.

Amazon UK sell them which is about the closest place I know of.

As for Apple DRM stuff well that can be taken care of with QTFairUse.

    Hi

how does the actual device need to be plugged in or are there batteries? Also have you ever had problems if the pc is a long way away from the squeezebox?

They come with a power supply. I guess you could rig them for batteries if you needed to.

Distances are not a problem, unless you are using a wireless signal of course. You can run up to 100M with CAT5 cable in theory. Ive used it to stream half way across the planet, through the internet so it should be fine!
