My understanding Aidok, is that most if not all Laptops post 2004 come with wireless built in(unless you buy a really cheap model). All you need to do is ask at point of purchase to be sure it has on-board wireless. Even for laptops without it built in, all you need to get is a wireless card or USB wireless adapter. That just covers the receiving aspect of it all though.

From the transmission side you will need to make sure that your NTL is wireless? Is your existing setup with the desktop wireless? or is connected from the NTL box to the desktop via cable?

Buying a laptop with built-in wireless is only one half of the equation.

You will need your NTL to have wireless too before you can connect a laptop through wireless.

If your NTL is hardwired at present? you will need to talk to them as well.
