    Hi,

I'm pretty new to all this networking pc and console thing but the problem I'm having is getting my 360 and pc to communicate with each other. As with most people I wanna stream video straight from my pc to the tv via the 360. I have a netgear prosafe 5 port switch with my 360 and broadband running through that. I'm using Zonealarm pro as a firewall and have downloaded windows media player 11 and also tried Zune. I've tried opening ports and every other idea I can find but to no avail. Basically when I try and install media connect from www.xbox.com/pcsetup as my 360 tells me it all goes well until it tries to authorize the xbox then I just get an error and more frustrated. Any ideas? All helpful suggestions appreciated.

    D.

i had alot of trouble getting the 360 to see my pc at first and it was down to norton firewall on my pc , once the 360 could see my pc i opened up wmp 11 and clicked on library then media sharing and ticked the box " share media to " and then i selected the 360 and clicked " allow access " .

i was then able to see my pic's , vid's etc... that where in the my pic's and my vid folders on the pc.

hope that helps a bit , sorry i can't be more specific as it was a few months since i did it.

Have you tried using TVeristy? I got it running successfully with Vista full and my xbox360.

You need to disable WMedia Centre from sharing first. A good walkthough is available at http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/1002/1

Thanks for the info. Anyone know where I might find a Tversity user guide?
