For some reason my USB printer wont communicate with me PC.
I have checked the system properites and the USB port controllers are not flagged as damaged/corrupt, I have swapped USB sockets just in case ayway.

Looking at the system files for the USB printer it says USB\0007.vxd and VMM32.vxd(ntkern.vxd) not present. I have tried updating from Options/cabs but windows says the best drivers are already installed.

    Mike.

What OS are you using 9x? ó_O
Have you tried to force-feed it a driver with the whole 'have disk' routine.
As well as the classic 'remove from device manager & reboot'.
Tried the printer on a different machine?

I tried the force-feed but it would'nt let me (insisting I had the drivers I needed), so I did manual uninstall of Twain and Tool-box utilities, reinstalled and all works fine. I'l be happier when I next boot from cold and see the files still present!
