I just checked on my wii for new firmware and it downloaded and installed it. Can't find anything new with it. I had the latest firmware about 5 days ago because I checked then. Anyone else get an update?

Prolly just fixing a vulnerability issue or some kind of crap like that, not every update will give you a noticeable benefit...

i wish they had a log file telling you what they updated, would be nice just to know and i doubt it would be too much hassle to implement it.

Aye ... at least with PSP Updates you get a nice list of all the changes made (and also a copy for Dark_Alex to do his magic ;) )

But as it is .... Wii updates seem to nearly be random without information on what they do. Id love for nintendo to provide some information on what each update does, and not just a press release every now and then about a big new feature launched.

IGN usually have info on all the updates.
So when was this one released?I checked for system updates last night and there were none.

It's unusual because at the end of the update it said something about parental controls. Which came in a previous update I believe which I definitely had. Maybe my Wii decided to download a previous update again or something. I checked the firmware by going into the News Channel and it just started downloading it.

Strange, I got the update about a week back, then I read this thread and checked for another one and there was none.
    Ah well no worries.

I hadn't my wii plugged in for about a week so maybe that's it. ( At the moment my wii is going into my sky box via RGB cable and from there to the tv and it doesn't relinquish control of the signal unless it's plugged out or connect24 is turned off in standby.
