    Hi,

The Sound on my parents pc is giving trouble. I have checked all the cables - they are fine and reinstalled the soundcard drivers but there is still no sound coming out.

When i start iTunes i get this message:

"iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly"

I tried googling it - but no joy.

    Any have any thoughts?

    Cheers,

    K

    Did the sound ever work?
What have you installed/changed/updated since it did?

So theres no yellow exclamation marks beside it in Device Manager in the System applet in Control Panel?

The sound did work in the past.

Its my parents machine and they don't know if they did install anything (they could have without realising it).

No - there is no yellow exclamation beside any device in the device manager list.

In Control Panel->Sound and Audio Devices->Audio tab, is Use only default devices ticked? Try unticking it.

Thanks Ruu - that wasn't selected - but what had happened was use Modem for Audio was selected instead of the soundcard for some reason.

I don't know how i missed this before though!

    Thanks again bud!
