got s3 suspend working on my mediacenter

it reduced my running costs from 56c per day down to 21.6c per day (both results were average usage over 1 weeks)

    anyway 1 slight problem

my extender wouldn't wake the computer, so i switched on wake on lan...

but now even with NAT off and the modems firewall at medium (full blockes all internet access) the pc just keeps waking about every 5 mins

"got s3 suspend working on my mediacenter"

Tell me more , is there a way I don't know of to reduce the running cost of my mediacenter ?

if your just using normal suspend, go into bios and power settings and set suspend to s3 only, my pc uses about 5 watts in s3

    other methods
    fit one large hard drive
    unplug the dvd rom
underclock the cpu and unplug its fan
    remove all unneeded pci cards
    unplug unneeded usb devices

maplins have a plug in power meter, the power usage will drop everytime you unplug something (my dvd-rom used 8watts)
