I've been looking at a couple of wood pellet boilers namely the Hercules (which is advertised as the only cast boiler in Ireland) and Gerkros and was wondering about the merits of the boilers construction materials, I assume that cast is better than steel but is it worth the extra cost ?

Think this might be better off in DIY

Nearly all the boilers in Sweden, Germany and Austria are made from mild steel so there is no difference in my opinion between steel and cast iron. In fact most boilers are steel
