6-Max STT bubble play

Right, I've finally gotten around to putting in some hours online, and I'm starting by using 6-max STTs to build a BR, seeing as it's the fashionable thing to do around here. Im not too worried about getting really good at these (they're just a means to an end), but I would like to improve my bubble play, as it's a key part of the game. So just a few questions to the many 6-max players we have here (I'm playing on FTP, $10-$30 level for now):

    1. Generally I'm getting to the bubble with 20-25BBs, unless I've hit a lucky hand earlier on. With this BB stack, what's a good raising range on the button? I assume standard size raises are good?

    2. If you get repopped on your raises, what now is a good calling/pushing range?

    3. With four players, what's a good adjustment in the above?

    4. At what BB level do you go into push-bot mode on the bubble?

    And a few general questions:

    5. What are the general opinions on taking what looks to be a coin-flip in the early levels, with 5/6 players still in? (I know you can't be certain it's a coin-flip, but with some players it's fairly obvious).

    6. What does the min-raise mean at this level in general?

    7. Do you ever fold heads-up?

I know the questions are really game/player dependant, but humour me with some generalities.

Hmm... have I underestimated the number of 6-max STT players on here? I thought there were a lot.

This is going to be fairly rushed as im running out the door and not really thinking things through.

I think the first question (raising range on button) is totally dependent on you opponents, at £10 six pac level some players just litterally stop playing unless they have absolute premium hands, other players play their big blind but fold around there sb every time and some players just go nuts on the bubble and raise everyhand.

I think three handed play depends on yourself, I think it is absolute key to get into heads up with a good chip advantage, ususally by heads up stage it will be push mode or close to it. So I tend to loosen up when down to three players.
I'd vary my raises, from standard to a little more then standard as long as you arent committing yourself, also if you type them in putting in weird numbers like 147, people get confused.

If i'm persistantly at it and I think my oppenent is capable of knowing that I cant have a good hand every time(and some of them cant do this) then I call with A10 or better, a lot of players at this level will not repop it like that unless they do have what they think is a good hand.

As soon as two of the three players have less then 7bb I start pushing.

I always take a coinflip early on, (1 think I like to do is if I get a medium/high pocket pair, or AK/AQ/ in the first hand I push, people will call with all sorts of crap thinking that you are just messing about, you'd be surprised how often it works)
If you get any sort of a chip lead in sixpacs it makes life an awful lot easier.

In my experience min raise preflop differs greatly from player to player, sometimes its suited connectors sometimes its AJ/A10 sometimes its jacks, there doesnt seem to be a lot of min raisers ith AA/KK but there is the odd limper with premium hands, just player note anyone you see doing any minraising.

Yes I do sometimes fold heads up.

So just a few questions to the many 6-max players we have here (I'm playing on FTP, $10-$30 level for now): I PLAY 20/25/50 ON PPP

    1. Generally I'm getting to the bubble with 20-25BBs, unless I've hit a lucky hand earlier on. With this BB stack, what's a good raising range on the button? I assume standard size raises are good? 3BBS IS MY NORM HERE

    2. If you get repopped on your raises, what now is a good calling/pushing range? PLAYER DEPENDENT A LOT PLAY ANY ARAG OR PP LIKE THIS..I HAVE FOUND I CALLED TO READILY AND HAVE TIGHTENED UP IN THESE SPOTS

    3. With four players, what's a good adjustment in the above? ONCE MY STACK IS GROWN TO A REASONABLE AMOUNT I BECOME AGGRESSIVE, RAISING UNOPENED POTS NON-STOP....CHIP ACCUMMULATION IS NOT TOO DIFFICULT

    4. At what BB level do you go into push-bot mode on the bubble? DEPENDS ON VARIABLES AT THAT TIME.

    And a few general questions:

    5. What are the general opinions on taking what looks to be a coin-flip in the early levels, with 5/6 players still in? (I know you can't be certain it's a coin-flip, but with some players it's fairly obvious). IF I HAVE aq/aK I WILL CALL AS IT IS AT WORST A RACE, BUT MAYBE DOMINATED ACE X...DUE TO ABILITY LEVEL HERE IWOULD ALWAYS TRY AND PLAY MORE THAN GAMBLE BLIND

    6. What does the min-raise mean at this level in general? MOST OF TIME BE WARY..BUT I HAVE SEEN AWFUL MIN-RAISES WITH SH IT CARDS...THERE IS SUCH A WIDE VARIETY OF PLAYER ABILITY

    7. Do you ever fold heads-up? YES A LOT, EVENTHOUGH I'M V.AGRRO HU

I know the questions are really game/player dependant, but humour me with some generalities.[/QUOTE]

Hey lenny, I play them on crypto so arriving at bubble play with 25/30bbs is a different universe

Thanks for the replies lads. I don't think I'm doing a huge amount wrong anyway but I wanted some ideas on how other people play the bubble. I also noticed myself that I was definately going into push-bot mode too early, pushing some small pairs into big hands with 20BBs. Not clever.
