We are looking to recruit a Self-Employed Sales Rep initially on a commission-only basis but with the intention that it would grow into a full-time perm position.

We are a small company who have successfully introduced a World-leading & innovative Computer Security product range to Ireland. The products are suitable for just about every desktop computer or laptop including Apple Mac’s, therefore the sales potential is enormous!

We are ideally looking for someone in the Dublin area. Full training will be given.

A proven sales track record & relatively good pc knowledge are essential.

If you are interested (or know someone who may be) please don't contact me via PM or email until I've disclosed all the relevant details. We will contact you when I've all the details regarding this post.

Alternatively, if anyone has any advice or info on where or how to find the right person we'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Jasper

Is this actually legal? Or do you mean pay minimum wage and then commission on top?

I would be very surprised if you would get anyone decent paying commission only, its too risky.
I work in technical sales and would not even apply for your Ad after seeing commission only - it tells me you have no money to pay me so i have to sell enough to pay myself whilst making you money.

I'd advise adding a basic wage + commission, its your best bet of getting anyone interested.

What sort of commission are we talking about here? Based on personal performance or company performance etc?

Thank you all very much for your valued responses, please accept my apologies for not replying sooner but I've been away on business...

As I said before, we're only a small co. & are looking for someone to take on the sales role. In answer to the points raised:

    - we have checked with a solicitor & also revenue comm. & yes it's legal to ask someone to work on a commission-only basis if they also do other work & are not solely dependent on your pay as their single source of income.

    - right now we can’t afford to pay a full-time sales person a basic salary + commission too, but we are trying hard to see if we can afford to pay someone part-time or even just a few hours a week

    - Commission (possibly up to 40%) could be either personal or company based – we’re flexible on it

We’re looking for someone to start with the company at this early stage & progress with us, as the accountant says it’s quite a healthy growing business so we may also be prepared to offer shares in the company

And finally, goneshootin you've got a flamin' nerve!!! when I need someone to speak for me I'll let you know - I don't think it's netiquette to have someone editing my post, how would you feel if some of yours were edited & you only found out later??? :(
