SKY Anytime - anyone actually got it working???

Hey everyone. So we subscribe to Sky at home, and I recently saw online and in their newsletter about Sky Anytime, basically a program that lets you download movies, sports and entertainment to your computer. I'm away from home for most of the week with just 4 channels so this could be interesting. Now of course this is no big thing in this day and age of torrents and everything, but it seemed a pretty seamless FREE (you subscribe on the site and give them your viewing card number) program so I thought I'd give it a go.

Now it all looks great and everything, but I can't actually seem to watch anything! Now I'm far from a novice when it comes to computers but all I can seem to do is browse the shows they have on file and then "bookmark" them. They're then in my library as bookmarked items, meanwhile the downloads and ready to play folders are completely empty.

They mention that I may need to have some credit in my wallet (how gay), but i just want to browse and try out the free content for now, plus from my viewing card which is linked to my account they should know that i subscribe to movies and sports at home so am entitled to view them now.

Has anyone used it or know anyone who has? It's just curiosity that has me now, and so I'm wondering if anyone has actually got it working or at all.

It uses peer to peer filesharing and is very difficult to remove. Sky use your upload for other people's download to save money on server bandwidth.

A very bad idea to install. It will use up your broadband cap as it runs eating your bandwidth all the time your PC is on.

Satellite and a Sky+ is a much better idea!

Google for information on how to disinfect your PC from this.

Well see I have Smart which has no download cap, so really I don't mind having it on for a while. I'm pretty sure that I will get rid of it, but was just curious about it, still haven't got it to download anything for me though!

I have the similar problem. Hopefully this may work for you too. After the recent upgrade from "Sky by Broadband" to "Sky Anytime" I could only browse but not download anything. I went to the sky.com site and discovered that I needed to add "Sky Anytime" to my services. Once I did this I was able to download straight away. I only use "Sky Anytime" to view premiership goals if I have missed MOTD. Have never downloaded a movie.

Made the same mistake, installed and couldn't get it working. In trouble shooting issue I learn't about what it was doing, have removed everything now.

    I did the following...

    On XP Professional..

    Uninstall Sky Anytime

    Physically remove the following directories..

    C:\Program Files\KService
    C:\WINNT\kdx

Go to start, run - type "regedit"

Search and delete any references to "Khost" and "KService"

I'm hoping that has removed every trace of these nasty applications..
