1-Started driving so mom signed me up for a month with her
2-didnt drive much so she cancelled it
3-then signed me up again for 3 months BUT we never got a cert so assumed we wernt insured so i didnt drive [plus they never asked for the money?]
4-then after that period im with her for a year now [paid]

5-got letter from company saying i owe them xxx amount for those 3 months.

Question is are the companies suppose to send you a cert etc as a proof to tell you that your insured [cause tbh i didnt even know i was at the time]

    thanks

No there is no obligation to send you a cert when added as a named driver.

No, you don't get anything I'm afraid! They just stick your name to the policy for that period!
