    Cuba is amazing.

If you do go, I'd make it soon. Castro isn't in good shape and once he dies, it's hard to know what will happen, but it will certainly never be the same.

Spend a couple of days in Havana, but move on to a beach resort like Varadero or Cayo Coco for a few days. From there, try to get to see some more of the island, Trinidad in the south, for example.

It's a beautiful island and a bit of a culture shock, but well worth the time and expense to get there. Just be ready for the third world conditions in some parts, you'll be safe wherever you go, but it can be a bit hard on your senses!

My only experience of Jamaica is Jamaica Airways and Kingston Airport, neither of which seem to reflect the "easy mon" attitude that the island likes to promote.

Ive been 4 times and loved it. Try the Melia Princessa Del Mar hotel in Varadero its 5 star all inclusive but not that expensive considering other 5 stars in the Caribbean. Maybe 7 nights there and 2 or 3 nights in the Parque Central hotel in Havana. There are also tours you can take from the hotel.

If you are really want to see more then try 3 nights Parque Central Havana then head down to Brisas Trinidad Del Mar in Trinidad for 4 nights which is a unesco heritage site then back to Varadero for 4 or 5 nights.

was thinking of heading there on honeymoon myself in May.

Could anyone recommend one between Sandals Royal Hicacos, Paradisus Varadero and Tryp Peninsula Varadero?

I've booked a flight to Cuba in June. Can anyone tell me what the story is with the tourist card. Do I get it here or when I arrive in Cuba?

Also I'm planning on staying in Havana for two nights and then going to Cayo Coco for a few days and then onto Varadero. Does anyone know the best way to get from Cayo Coco to Varadero? The Viazul doesn't seem to have that route and I don't think there's any direct flights from Cayo Coco to Varadero. It looks like I might have to fly back to Havana and then get a three hour bus to Varadero. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Send off for a tourist car to this london office.
Send the correct amount including cost of postage back on a sterling draft.

The only way to get from cayo coco to varadero is to fly.....they have day trips on busses to varadero from cayo coco but there is no daily bus service to cayo coco from anywhere.
The other option is to take a taxi. It costs a good bit but if you manage to find people to share it with it will cost about 200Dollars between 4.
We took the flight and were glad of it because it took 20 mins the airport was quite an experience....prepare to be very patient in Cuba they love queueing :)

The travel companies are cubatur havanatur look them up.
PreBook all your viazul busses online before you go and you will be ALOT less stressed out.

If I had to go again I would have all accomodation travel and anything else i could pre booked and paid for....leaves alot more time to chill in that sweet cuban sun - speaking of which bring lots of sun cream you won't get any there!

bring euro instead of dollars or creditcards.
They charge 20% commission on dollars and nearly 12% on credit cards...a rip off our travel agent never told us about!!!

Cuba's brilliant, I'd recommend it. Be aware of the season though, it rained almost constantly during my ten days there.
