Possible Leak

SWMBO has a January '99 Hyundai Accent saloon which appears to be letting in water, but I can't figure out where the leak is. The car is constantly damp, despite running a dehumidifier in it for the last few days. It's also damn near impossible to demist.

Does anyone know if this is a common problem in this type of car, or have any suggestion as to what may be causing it.

At some stage someone put an aftermarket aeriel on the roof of the car, but there is no sign of water in the headlining. The car was already damp before this was done. The door cards, headlining, seatbelts, seats and carpets all have mould on them from the damp - it's become obvious that someone had just wiped the interior down before she viewed it.

    Any help/suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Check that the sunroof drains aren't blocked. If you suspect a leak from the windows/door frames, then take it through a car wash with a dryer function. You will either see the water coming in, or hear the air entering where it shouldn't.

Happened to one of my dads old cars... the garage fixed it fairly quickly and had exactly the same issues (constantly damp and impossible to de-mist).

It had something to do with the pollen filter or something.

    Thanks folks.

There isn't a sunroof, but does anyone know where the drains and pollen filter are on one of them?

I reckon it sound like the cabin radiator. This radiator heats the air going into your car when required (to clear the mist of your windscreen for instance). If this is leaking then you won't clear the mist as it'll be blowing up steam.
Check the water/coolant level in your reservoir, if it's low you'll know. Make sure this coolant /water level doesn't go too low or your engine will go to engine heaven.
You can also check under the dash where the clutch pedal is, this is where it might leak to.
You'll need to take it to the garage and ask them to have a look at the rad's
