MAME question.

So I decided to return to MAME and I got the latest MAME32b version. Thing is that the snapshots that I take don't show up on the main interface. The snaps are taken and they are in the snapshot folder, but they won't show on screen.

Any ideas?

hmm, only thing I can think of is maybe you should go to the Directories tab in Mame and set the Snap folder to wherever you have mame slapped on your drive. Presuming you haven't done this already.

Yeah I've done that alright to no avail. I may move all the directories and point them to the snaps, maybe that will work.

Apologies if this is too obvious, but is there a tick next to 'Snapshots' under the 'Show Pictures' menu under 'View'? And a 'Snapshot' tab next to 'Flyer' and 'Cabinet' in the right-hand display? I think it's possible to not display the tabs and have it look for flyers instead of screenshots without you knowing.

It doesn't? That's a bit strange, but it shouldn't stop programs that can use them from displaying them(not sure about MAME though). Maybe it's a naming thing, the one you want to display might need to be (romname)000 or 001 maybe?

EDIT: That "no" was as in "No, I tried that and it's still not working", not as in "no, I don't see those things you're talking about", right?

I know what you meant, my computer does of course show the.png files, I meant maybe MAME wasn't showing them.

Anyway it's apparantly a bug in the new version and it happens to everyone. If you know where I can get an older version let me know.

Ah, sorry. This is why I'm no good at tech support.

Anyway, assuming you're using v0.100 or higher, you can get v0.95 here. It's doesn't seem to have that problem with screenshots.

Have you unzipped the screenshots ?

IIRC you need the screenshots unzipped in their directory (whereas the ROMs stay zipped)

I was taking the screens in game with F12 and they weren't showing up. They are now though thanks to Trode and his older version.
