I thought this might be interesting. Anyone still have their cheap old springers that they somehow got hold of before the 1j law came into effect?

Heres a pic of my old trusty Colt Commander. Thought It was great at the time. Laughable now though. Served me well in its day.

Heh mine broke down on many many occasions. Always managed to fix it though. Even created some home made parts to get it going again. Including melting a hole through the body just over the pistol grip and sticking a metal rod in to support the broken trigger.

    Wow, times were tough!

I'll have to stick in my rare yonezawa kg9, bout 20 years old so it is, still workin brilliantly, got it in italy from a collector and wrapped it in foil for the plane!
    Hush hush...

    Got any pictures of it?

This is my first springer. My aunt brought it back from Spain for me. It looks great and I had some good craic with it :) I do recall a mate of mine writhing around in pain after being shot in the knee-cap!

My dad actually confiscated this on me for a few years after an... incident. I only got it back about a week ago! :D Unfortunately there's a couple of parts missing out of it, so it doesn't shoot, but I'll fix it some day soon ;)

Not sure who made it, but it says 'HF P8' on it.

Nice little springer there Dave. Is the slide on that metal? It sure looks it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

I'll do that when I get a chance.

I hand carved sites for it too, out of old bits and mounts for a bike light, pre ebay yekno, the best sites on it, made from plastic with a stanley knife.

Also a spare mag fashioned from a pistol one, for a compact look.
A bad way to spend time but we all need a hobby. :)

Its a slick mick of a yoke, have to say I've not always been responsible with it.
A new spring and it'll be a serious boy, it was powerful before but spring wore out a bit.

The sites i made were even adjustable with a screw.

Again I think too much time on my hands as a teen...

Nice piece of Kit. I was not expecting something as flashy as that!

    Thanks,
and because of the pump action you could really lash out the shots.
Its build quality tho is unreal, its just so tough, the plastic is great quality and thick, designed to last and it has and probably will for a long time. :)

Yeah it's such a pity but better late than never! I was just plinking there last week out in my backyard and felt the urge to find more power! lol But now i'm really getting into airsoft, would love to do a skirmish in southern ireland with some of my mates.

In the south would be a bad idea until a proper site is set up. and it'll be another while yet id say.

Love the 9 by the way. One of my fav guns of all time.

Here are my 5 springers. I got the USP from the UK about 8 years ago. I got the p229 in Spain. The Glock came from the UK along with a lazer sight and a shoulder rig. The P99 and the M9 came from Spain. The best weighted one is the P229 by far and they all still fire as well. I( used to think they were the bees knees till I found out about AEG GBB and AEP.

Dave, that looks the same as my USP. It has HK USP S&W engraved on it. It was my first and I bought from a crowd in the UK.

not technically pre-august 06, but it is pre-ordering-a-decent-gun:

This is the spring pistol that made me a terror suspect in prague.;)

    CIMG4567.JPG

I also remember buying a bb gun of some kind in one of the 2euro shops in town. I'm not sure whether it was technically legal (this was definitely before august) but the bbs barely left the barrel before dropping... I think it was the kind where you have to manually place the bbs in the chamber and cock it by pulling back the hammer. Although it did come with a surprisingly large bottle of 0.12 bbs, but they were the most bent, distorted and seam-covered things you'll ever see. I'll try and find a picture but I think it fell apart in my hands..

actually maxforce I just realised my p99 is almost certainly the same as yours, made by HFC right? Hope you didn't have the same trouble as I did getting it back as I did! It feels nicer than a lot of the other cheap spring guns my friends had but the magazine doesn't sit properly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭whupass

    ahh ok thanks o1s1n

To be honest it is very basic. To call it a shoulder rig would be demeaning to what is available today.
