I play very mid to high range bass and also do alot of strumming and because of this someone recommended this Fender bass to me but as far as I can see its just a regualr bass. Ok it is tuned like a guitar, the strings are closer together and its got a tremelo but when I hit that E string will it sound just like a normal bass thats hat I want to know because I've seen the term baritone guitar etc but it seems fairly normal to me. Anyone know anything about it?

It has a 30" scale which is longer than a baritone but shorter than a bass. It should be a fair approximation of a bass.

I've seen 30" short scale basses once or twice.

Never said they didn't exist but they're the exception, not the rule iirc

Wasn't challenging your comment as such, Feylya. Just pointing out that 30" scale guitars are often considered to be bass guitars, so there's nothing terribly unusual in the given example.

OP, you can quite pleasantly intonate the low E of a bass guitar on a 30" scale instrument, as long as the string gauge is high enough to hold the tuning (and the neck is built for the tension).
