    Hi all!

I'm thinking of doing the evening diploma in Accounting & Finance. Could anyone tell me about it?

Easy or difficult? Are there hundreds of photocopied handouts to learn off?

I'm currently in a "full time" (20hours per week) course which ends in May. I've no exams at the end of it, just two projects to do between now and May.

I'd like to fit in the DBS course too, but I'm not sure if I'd be taking on too much.

How much study time do they recommend???????????

    Thanks!

    Hiya

I didnt do that particular course but did the Business Diploma there a couple of years ago. Its like any course that you have to do after work, college etc. Found it tiring in the evenings but the level of difficulty is pretty basic - basically getting you up to leaving cert level and a bit more.

What are you planning on doing with the diploma - it may get you some work as a book keeper but thats probably it. I went on and am now doing the ICAI exams - the course didnt get me any exemptions.

Are you doing something similar at the moment?

Like ams said, what do you plan on getting out of it? Even with the diploma, bookkeeppers are generally required to have the Accounts Technician as a qualification so if that's what you want then check out www.IATI.ie.

If you want to become an accountant and you're already doing a degree then why not go for a post graduate course? Or better yet, just start your professional exams whether they be ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA.

If you've any more questions than ask away. :)
