I see feathered lady has been entered in the champion hurdle this year by colm murphy again but he hasn't have a competitive run since st stephens day in 2005 when he won at 6/4 fav and i was just wondering does anyone know hows her recovery is going as i personal think she is a class mare.
Had it backed last year anti post at 8/1 from me winnings on stephens day and if she runs i think she is good value at 16/1 in places and as low as 10/1.
    Good e/w value

Fingers crossed she makes it to Chelts this year as she does look extremely good on what she has done so far.

absolute class mare-but very hard to come back from an injury like hers -
at the moment she is worth a fortune as a broodmare so the big question is if she was urs would u risk losing her if she gets fatally injured or would u send her to stud and take ur profit and watch her progeny -i know if she was mine i would take a lot of convincing to bring her back but i suppose she must be given every chance to come back -if not 100 per cent she would be off for a date with a stallion

The plan is to get her racing again, according to her trainer.

I was told Hardy Eustace is really fancied, by a friend of Dessie Hughes, he said forget his last race when he was beaten to Detroit City. Said he is in excellent shape.

he ran his race last year and was beaten. a year older/slower he doesnt have a hope in hell. i forbid anyone to throw their money away by backing him.

i will refund all bets on every horse in the race if Hardy Eustace wins....;) :D

we'll talk closer to the day Tush, just in case the field gets depleted between now and then. If it doesnt ill lay you a price alright.
At the moment i have Detroit City, Iktitaf and Brave Inca definitely ahead of him and Straw Bear, Feathard Lady, Harchibald and Macs Joy all having realistic chances of beating him as well

Dont usually back two in the one race, but if the price is right I might take you up on the offer.

There's only a handful who'd be layed that, and even less who would lay it.

He is old for a potential champion hurdle winner, but his trainer is adamant that he is a better horse now than last year where he had an interrupted preparation. It is interesting that they wont entertain the option of going for the stayers with the horse, in which I think he would be a certainty to finish second at worst. Connections are dangerously bullish about the horse. For all Detroit City has done before Christmas, and the likeliehood that he will improve, Hardy Eustace came out best at the weights in the Bula.

I would like to hear of anyone willing to put up a match bets of Hardy Eustace vs Iktitaf, Harchibald, Straw Bear or Fethard Lady.

Entry made in the World Hurdle for HE, hmmm sounds like a champion hurdle contender alright.

And the fact that he ran better than Detroit City in the Bula doesnt merit mentioning. Of course, Detroit City also might not be Champion hurdle contender.

I think its between the first two in the market, but those writing off Hardy Eustace could look very stupid come march. I think he is third best, and given taht he is a better horse in the spring, and if he gets the standard festival ground, it would be far from being the biggest shock for him to win.

Not much mention of Macs Joy here, i think this horse has a good chance, only 8 so maybe with the Inca a year older it might just have that little bit of advantage that it couldn't find last year when always just falling a little short.

Then again, with Brave Inca always only doing enough, maybe Macs Joy is a little flattered with how close he's been to B.I. in the last few runs...either way, small bet on Macs Joy for me...

Just for the record the Bula was a farce of a race, its not rock solid form or anything.

The small field and slow pace suited neither horse.

I dont think it was a farce of a race. It is somewhat shaky and bears no resemblance to what will happen in the CH. However, Detroit City was made 5/2 and shorter on the back of it.

At least, you have pointed out that both horses werent suited to the race. I think Johnson caught O'Dwyer napping and might have done things differently if the same race was run again tomorrow.

The point is that on this years form (and this includes hammering Mighty Man in second gear at Ascot) HE has probably put the best 2m hurdling performance on the track. DC , as he is younger may improve. BI hasnt had to put up a championship performance to date. I can accept how those horses have better chances than HE. However, horses like Harchibald, Fethard Lady, Iktitaf, and to a lesser degree Straw Bear, Jazz Messenger, and Macs Joy have far more questions to answer than Hardy Eustace.

I believe Hughes when he says that HE is a better horse this season, that he was never happy with him after christmas last year...(he wasnt beaten far) and is a very dangerous horse to write off. HE never gets any credit for any race he wins. Richard Johnson and Paul Carberry threw away his two CHs. Maybe coming back to win it at 10 might get him the credit that a dual hurdler deserves.

Theres a choice of 2 for the win and one possible outsider winning. Detroit Cty, Brave Inca and Feathared Lady
