Incase anyone missed it, from rte.ie/business.

New charges for checked-in baggage on Aer Lingus short-haul flights to the UK and the rest of Europe come into effect today.

A fee of €8 per flight will be levied on every item of luggage checked in at airports.

A fee of €4 per flight is offered for passengers who pay online prior to the day of departure. Aer Lingus long-haul flights are unaffected by the new charges.

I must say, this goes nicely with the almost mandatory checking-in of any bag now.....who travels with *nothing*?
