Can anyone recommend a good lamp for lamping. Looking for something with a reasonably tight beam with descent distance. Battery time will also have to be fairly good.

I've used the same Lazerlite lamp for over a decade now I'd say (think I bought it in 1997!) - have replaced a lot of parts though.
The Light Force lamps have a better beam - and more light but I found them a bit awkward.

You can get a hinged filter system for the lazerlight - if you've ever tried to use the clip on ones for the Light Force ones you'll relise the huge advantage of the hinge - especially if you're holding a dog or gun at the same time.

I used to use a motor bike battery but since a Maplins opened nearby I got a drycell battery now - get the proper charger for these as well.
If you know an electrician they'll get them a lot cheaper elsewhere for you.
There's a huge range of sizes and power available.

Lightforce Blitz has to be the best lamping light out there,
the Lightforce Striker is also very good, can be mounted on a scope easily also.

I use the Deben Power Pack 18Ah double battery belt system.. nerver ran out on a night yet!!

Thanks lads, got my hands on a Blitz tonight for a spell, grand and light compared to lights a few years back. Good lamp will be purchasing this weekend.
