I was thinking of getting a MIDI drum/percussion pad to add a bit of extra rhythm to a group I'm thinking of putting together.

I was looking at the alesis controlpad, (http://www.alesis.com/product.php?id=103) which seems to be about right for what I'm looking for.

Has anyone any experience with these products?

Rolands SPD20 is very popular but also look at products by DrumKat and Hart Dynamics. Both make excellent pro gear which are worth checking out.

The roland one can be got pretty cheap on ebay these days. around 200 i think
