Hi i have ntl digital in dublin here, my stb is a pace dc221kn decoder box... my problem is that although i can receive a perfect picture via scart to composite and perfect sound the two are not syncronised.

my tv card has an s-video input socket, should i try rgb out on my stb and get an rgb to svideo adaptor. would my sound then be syncronised with my picture?

    My pc specs are:

nVidia geforce 6600 gt 256mb agp
    Amd 3500+ 64bit cpu
Asrock Nf3 Vsta mainboard with cmedia sound like built in sound chip
    2gb corsair xms2 pc 6400 ddr2 ram
    emprex 8x dvd-r/rw drive
    120gb Diamond Max hard drive.
    80gb Maxtor hard drive.
    120gb Iomega Usb2 drive.
    16gb Quantum drive
    Hauppage pvr 150 tv tuner
Win XP SP2 media centre edition 2005

You have a VERY similar setup to me and I use a RGB to SVID convertor and all is in sync.

But before you go out and buy hardware I would test out some software decoders first. Off the top of my head I can't remember the decoder I use, so I will check at home tonight and get back to you on that.

But in the mean time use :

To checkup on your decoders. Also have a read around and see what others are using.

Edit : Just looked about and I'm running PureVideo Gold

Maybe buy a rgb to svid then. I would have thought it's a software issue. as I say , try other codecs.

You could try Reclock as a long shot but I'm not sure whether it would achieve anything.

Smoggy has a working setup so I would follow his advice and get the same scart RGB to s-video converter he has.

I seem to think that the rgb to svid convertor I got was ShineyBow, but again I can check this when I get back home. I got it from ebay , but I think they are the same ones that Maplins sell.
