renaming connection?

    sorry if this has been asked before.

    how would i change the name of the wireless connection i'm on?


    example;

    eircom3456 43763547 & change it to McDonald's :D ?

    Login into the router/modem and change the SSID.

    thanks irlrobins, found it but the box text in SSID in grey'd out so can't change it :(

    Even if u switch to advanced mode? I don't have Eircom myself so I'm not 100% sure.

    there doesn't seem to be a advanced button on that window. i tried all the settings (i'm sure) i could in the wireless connection.

    LOL. You need to change the SSID on the modem, not the client PC. Login to your router here http://192.168.1.254 and change it there.
