I bought Wario Ware in HMV, Swords and it didn't come with a Wii stars scratch card. I rang the store afterwards, but they weren't aware of the scratch card scheme. Shouldn't all Wii games and hardware come with this?

Only Nintendo official games (i.e. developed by Nintendo) have the Nintendo VIP scratch points, but I would have thought WarioWare would be one of these games....

Only Nintendo published items will come with the scratch card. Maybe ask them what the story is with it!!

I'm pretty sure my Wario Ware came with them.

Was it a sealed box, or had HMV taken the contents out and put them in a little baggie?

The points really aren't all that much use though, so it isn't any great loss.

Yeah, WarioWare comes with star points, so you should have had the paper slip with the scratch panel for the code to credit your star points.

its for gaining points on the nintendovip site which can be used to get stuff like wallpapers, phone tones etc. Every once in a while a big thing appears like a while back a ds game was 5000 points, rumour has it pretty soon the star points while be able to be traded against wii points for use on virtual console obviously not point for point but nobody knows yet

As you said, nobody knows yet, but I don't see why it WOULDN'T be point for point. Would make sense. It'd be like "Buy two Nintendo games = get a NES virtual console game free!"

No, not a sealed box, 'twas an empty one taken from the front of the store, the assistant put the disk and manual in herself.

    Hi guys,
I tried to register on nintendovip.com a number of times with a couple of different codes and each time it did not work.....

    Anyone have the same problem?

Never had any problems with them. What error did it give you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,369 ✭✭✭madmoe

Just kept saying it was not recognised :-( I tried all the ones I had (one with Wii, Wii play and Wii sports). I have since bought Zelda but have yet to try that one.

Will give it a go tonight and let you know,

Sounds silly, but are you sure you entered them correctly? Like putting in a 0 in place of a O or 1 instead of I or something?

Wait did you get these points with the wii consle? where in the box are they?

    @Damo,
Yup, made sure I was entering it correctly.

That's strange, I got a scratch card with Trauma Centre for the DS (developed by Atlus), so you definitely should have gotten one with the Nintendo developed Warioware.

I was going to say who would bother if only for wallpapers and ringtones but I'd hate to miss out on getting a free game or free Wii points. But the effort of signing up...you have to give your street address etc. and I hate doing that over the internet.

Are these just rumours that they will be tradable for Wii points, or are you pretty sure that will be the case?

It's been confirmed on the Nintendo site as "in progress" and I think I saw it on the Wii Shop channel somewhere as well.
