bought first bike last week, cbr 250 MC19, complete novice...

fuel: no fuel gage, how many km's roughly should you get from a full tank, what does the reserve hold?

engine: has 35000km on the clock, if looked after, how many km's could you expect engine to last for?

oil: how often should it be changed?

    thanks!

110-120kms for €8 from fill to reserve - I never fill the tank completely. Reserve is good for at least 20kms on my bike, but best not to run out.

There are reports on cbr250.com of engines seeing 100k without much more than basic care.

Every 5k kms or six months, whichever is sooner, but once a year should be plenty if the bike isn't getting much use. Make sure you use Silkolene or other high quality oil and use only genuine Honda oil filters.

Tank range should be about 120 miles and reserve should be about 20 to 30 miles.
Not sure how long engine should last , try www.cbr250.com for good advice.
Oil should be changed every 4000 miles.

Best of luck with the bike:)

I don't like the top heavy feeling it has for the first few kms, and it leaks when it sloshes about if its too full. And I'm mean.

Doughiska in Galway? See you on the N17 sometime!

Don't scare yourself at the weekend - go easy and have fun. The roads are very slippy at this time of year, be careful.

Good question. you don't want to look like you got into a fight with a cheesegrater and lost.

fuel: no fuel gage, how many km's roughly should you get from a full tank, what does the reserve hold?
I fill it up for 9-10eur and it lasts for 150-160km
engine: has 35000km on the clock, if looked after, how many km's could you expect engine to last for?
mine has 75000km on it, still runs sweet. people say bulletproof engines are on them little cibbies, just don't forget basic care.
oil: how often should it be changed?
    thanks!
manual says something like 6k km or something like that, I try to get it done every 4-5km, change oil filter every second time I change the oil. Lazy me ;)

That's a nuts bike for the first one, I have to add. I've ridden it for 7months so far and it still scares sh*its out of me sometimes.
Be careful and good luck!

I work in Galway and live near Tuam - I have a CBR250 and a CBR600. The 250 was bought last year to get me back on a bike and do the AON Grade 2, but I'll be selling it this summer (when I get time to finish making it pretty).

The MC19 is a good bike to practice on - keep the revs low and stay away from busy roads until you are familiar with it, I don't think they are particularly scary.

did the AON Grade 4 last April from BikeTec, so will be taking it nice & easy. Is it easy to get spares - fairings?
