ok im sure you dont need a lecture on how incredible stupid you were, so im not gonna go there. bascially i think the percentages are quite high round 40% i think. u can take the morning after pill up to 72hrs after sex so if there is still time advise her of it, though the sooner you take it the better. secondly chat to the girl see how she is feeling?? if you are scared think what she is like. and also ask her when her last period was, if her period is just over there is less chance of pregnancy.

and finally dont do it again or maybe next time you are gonna try, just think of how worried you are now, its just not worth it.

Catherine22, it's not as simple as pulling a magic number like 40% out of the air. The chances of getting pregnant from a one-off encounter are usually lower, it often takes couples weeks or evens months to conceive.

But it depends on what stage of the cycle his ladyfriend is at, with a good dollop of luck thrown in after that.

OP, if the incident only just happened last night or the night before, and it's still within the 72 hour window, urge her to get the morning after pill. She can go to a GP for this. The fact you came outside her doesn't get you off the hook completely, as pre-cum also contains sperm, and it is possible to get pregnant in this way.

The chances are low enough, but then how much risk is acceptable with something so serious as pregnancy? I would say none at all, so get that pill! If the time is gone beyond a few days, you may just have to hope for the best. You'd probably get away with it, but keep having sex without a condom and the day will come when you won't get away with it.

if 100% of us tell you that there's 0% chance of her being pregnant, God looks down, raises and eyebrow, and says "ORLY?" If she's pregnant, she's pregnant, and if she's not she's not. There's nothing anyone here can say that will give you the answer you're looking for, if you don't want to wait around, get her to go to the doc. This is one of life's lessons - don't waste it.

pulling a number out of the air.............i didnt

im not gonna get into a fight about this and i know its way off subject but thats what my well respected gynaecologist told me. u know a person with qualifications and experience in this field. there is a 40% chance of pregnancy with unprotected sex. if u dont fall pregnant u are obviously lucky/unlucky (depending on your situation)

But that number is based on the male ejaculating inside the female, which didn't happen in this case.

Where do you live? The Vatican?

I don't see how anyone can fail to get their hands on condoms - unless you hooked up with her at 5 in the morning. They're for sale in every pub/club toilets, late night pharmacy, Spar etc. etc. etc.

That's not a lecture on studipity now - just blind disbelief on my behalf that you weren't able to get any.

But in relation to your problem. Nobody knows buddy. I know people who've had unprotected sex and not got pregnant - I know people who used two types of contraception but still have a little one running around their house today.

The girl involved should get out and get the morning after pill.

Man, if I had a euro for every kid in Ireland rushing in to have unprotected sex and then going unregged in PI...
Every single person knows that it's extremely unsafe without a condom, still these threads "Yeah, we did it anyway. Are we pregnant now?

we've all been there. The point is, if you want to find out if your woman is pregnant, she'll have to take a test, or wait for nature to play it's hand. Either way, it's done now. I'd love to be able to tell you that there's no way in hell she's pregnant and put your mind at rest, but she may already be.

If you'd known you'd be like this, would you have bothered having sex? Remember that for the next time - that's what separates kids from adults, not age.

The king denies ever being there.
That's not smugness - its just stating that some of us carry condoms for a reason or have the will power to say "I'm happy with a blow job" or "Lets do this next time". and like BIKO I am at a loss to what 24 hour does not sell them.

Although I'll be the first to admit they are way to dear.

OP - I guess you just have to wait and see and put this down as a lesson

have the will power to say "I'm happy with a blow job"

    You martyr. :D

    But back on topic:

OP, there are a lot of factors you know nothing about - or at least nothing you've stated here. Do you know if your partner is on the pill? Or what stage of her cycle she was in? Both of those factors may have an enormous impact on the outcome.

But as others have said - you don't get a sure fire answer on pregnancy within minutes, hours or days of having penetrative sex. It takes a number of weeks.

In a female under 30 it may be as high as 25%, if intercourse is at the right time of the month. That means (presuming a 28 day cycle) from day 11 to day 15/16 max. Given he didn't ejaculate inside her, there;s virtually no chance as far as I am concerned - that's because I read recently that it's now thought that there actually aren't functioning sperm in pre-cum.
