Picked up the new Dublin/Maynooth/Longford train timetable today and it seems like all the trains servicing Docklands only start in Clonsilla. Am I seeing things?

Good to see there's actually a train leaving Dublin for Maynooth after 23:00 now. :)

    Yes for two reasons

    1) Not enough trains to go the whole way to Maynooth
    2) When Pace Clonsilla opens those trains starting in Clonsilla will be extended to Pace

Is there plans for new trains? I was always under the impression that the new station was for the Maynooth line whereas now it seems it's in reality for the Pace line....

The sole purpose of the Docklands station is to satisfy a planning condition on the Hansfield SDV.

All trains from Pace will go to Docklands, none will go to Connolly again its the planning condition

1 extra Maynooth Connolly service is pencilled for 2008/9

The best way to look at it is that it was a victory for the people of D15, with spin-off benefits for the people on the Maynooth line...

    A fairly unique victory, btw...

    Bit more about it here:

Just had a look at the timetable and it's very disappointing that even with the addition of the Docklands station there is still a gap of half an hour between trains to Clonsilla from 16.41 (Connolly) and 17.10 (Docklands). Not everyone in the IFSC finishes work at 5pm. I finish at 4.30, for example, but rarely get out at 4.30 on the dot so am unlikely to get the earlier of these trains, and I wouldn't be alone in leaving at this time. If they're supposed ti be properly serving peak time, why is there such a long gap?
