In Athlone there's a few...Rayners and Castle Inn every Tuesday at 8...also the Card Club have a tournament every Friday and Sunday €50 buy in...what would you consider cheap??

Ace High run a game every Wednesday night (50+5 freezeout) in Rackett hall hotel Roscrea, 15k in chips.All 50's in cash prize money
blinds every 20min 50/100,100/200, 200/400, 400/800, 500/1000, 1000/2000 etc.
there is almost always a cash game played when players knocked out, game can vary between stud, draw or holdem depending on who's playing.

Thanks, i think i'll try out the one in mullingar... I think anything around 60 or below is cheap, cheap enough for a student to afford anyway!!

The Big Slick Card Club is the name of the casino in Athlone. It located at St. Marys place, behind the old Fas building,

They have cash games every night (except tues and weds, when they are closed.) Tournaments are on Fridays and Sundays. €60 buy in now, as they are running a league as well. The best value tourny in the midlands.

The big slick p.m.c. are running a poker league from now until end of march for at least one ticket to irish open package top 18 players with points will playoff for the package ill post full details shortly

As a matter of interest there is always a cash game in the corner going, "old style poker" €5 a deal decent money(chips) in centre
