    I know u lose a gig or so wen a drive is formatted, but why is my '20GB' HD only 11gigs?

    Is this the case with everyone?

    Mircosoft use 7 gb of the 20 bringing it down to 13 anyway!

    When I got mine there were piles of demo videos. Some of them are quiet big.

    about 6 1/2 Gb is used by MS. If you delete all of the exta videos and 'free' Xbox Live Arcade game, you should be up to about 14 Gb that you can use.

    I've noticed that it reserves the full space for anything you download from XBox Live even before the download completes.

    That is, if you have 13Gb free and download a 1GB demo, it will immediately report that the HD only has 12Gb free.

    Im afraid MS use around 7gigs immediately for the backward compatability images between XBOX and XBox360. I dont have a link for this but i googled it a while back cos mine only came with 11gig free and thats what i found

    delta bravo has it spot on... Everyone's going on about all the free stuff thats pre-loaded. Mine was completely blank when i got it....

    Mine had a load of advertising videos for adidas on it :rolleyes:

    Mine had an Adidas ad in English and French and some Skiing video in English and French. It had about 10 songs on it too.

    I always wondered where the hell the 7GBs had gone to. Just never bothered to look it up.
