i am having this weird problem with my wireless network.

    PC wireless card PCI card

Laptop has wireless card as well.

UTV supplied BT voyager router with wireless netwroking.

Both computer can get on the internet etc with no problems.

They cant ping each other or see each other on the wireless network.

But the moment i plug the laptop into the router with CAT5 cable, straight away it works i can see the PC upstairs and ping.Plug the cable out and it loses the ability to ping the PC.

I have checked the setting of the on the laptop connections and nothing is different.

It also goes to show my shares are correct.

Any body any ideas on how to solve this?

I think its a problem with the laptop but i may be wrong.

Both PC and Laptop show as being connected on the router.

    its driving me mad.

is there a firewall program installed on your pc / laptop, such as zone alarm or the xp firewall running?

Some wireless gear has a " don't let the client pc's talk to each other " type setting , its can be called all sorts of things , IBSS ,client privacy etc , maybe your modem has it and its turned on.
